The purpose of this article is to analyze the structural conditions of violence against women journalists. The current situation in Mexico will be taken as a case of analysis. Special emphasis will be placed on the importance of promoting a regional diagnosis that allows to know periodically the dimensions of this problem and to be able to influence the development of policies and legislative changes, in order to guarantee the life and freedom of journalists in the region.
