SAXE-FERNANDEZ, John. The militaristic torrent since 9/11: Characteristics and costs. Inter disciplina [online]. 2018, vol.6, n.15, pp.17-39. Epub 19-Feb-2021. ISSN 2448-5705. https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2018.15.63837.
Under the concept of a militaristic torrent, this article analyzes the events that took place in the wake of 9/11 and its complexity in the light of recent revelations, from the authorizations for the use of military force to its expression in wars of aggression against Afghanistan, Iraq and a total of seven nations, according to the testimony of General Wesley Clark, as well as a vast Southern Command´s “regime change” operation against the Venezuelan government. They have been wars and operations over natural resources, against real or imaginary enemies, internal or external, through a permanent mobilization for war with high fiscal costs for the US economy.
