This paper shows the participation of the Superior Studies Faculty at Cuautitlan (UNAM) in research activities regarding nanoscience and nanotechnology areas (N&N). In the Faculty, the main N&N research lines are focused on the development, evaluation and application of nanoparticle systems for the pharmaceutical, veterinary and food industry, as well as in the synthesis, characterization and application of ceramic and metallic nanomaterials. In the N&N field, 18 projects are being currently developed and 5 patents were also registered in Mexico. In terms of education (teaching and learning), the Faculty offers courses related to selected topics of nanotechnology, such as: special seminars on nanotechnology, standardization and characterization of nanostructures, synthesis of nanostructures, drug development, theory of disperse systems and nanotechnology in biological systems. With issues related to N&N, 139 students concluded their thesis (92 bachelor, 24 master and 13 doctorate). The Superior Studies Faculty remains at the forefront of science and technology, and still actively involved in research and education in the N&N area.
