This work is elaborated on a personal reflection and the analysis of legal literature and jurisprudence, from a critical position on the issue the surrogacy institution in Lithuania with an extension of the view form a comparative perspective. The authors of this work belong to a wide international research group from different European, Latin American or Asian countries (GIDEPA). The objective of the work is to analyze the legal regulation of the surrogacy, through the research and comparative analysis of the updated scientific literature, judicial practice and online sources by the professors involved. Starting from the origins and concepts of surrogacy, the legal regulation (and not regulation) in different and important countries as well as the different legal effects in each one is observed and exposed. The work concludes by offering the position of the authors, already slipped throughout the work, but with special incidence in the final conclusions.
