Faced with a possible federal reform in civil and family procedural matters, according to the faculty of the Congress provided for in article 73, section XXX, of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on September 15, 2017, it is necessary to rethink the idea of the location of Family Law, and if it reaches its recognition as an autonomous legal science, therefore, its location in the different branches of Law, since in Mexico, family and relationships affective-juridical that interweave, have transferred the traditional grouping in Private Law to be placed within the Social Law, criterion that should be taken into account at the moment of executing the faculty conferred to the federal Legislative Power.
