Abstract

VAZQUEZ, Angélica. Queer Pedagogy in Latin America. Approaches and Strategies. Rev. interdiscip. estud. género Col. Méx. [online]. 2021, vol.7, e615.  Epub Sep 13, 2021. ISSN 2395-9185.  https://doi.org/10.24201/reg.v7i1.615.

In this paper a review of recent advances in the field of queer pedagogy in Latin America is presented, in order to identify different types of research and their practical implications for this area of study. The main methodology has been documentary analysis, combined with a strategy of qualitative content analysis. Boolean searches of the terms "pedagogía queer" or "educación queer" across 13 different databases provided the information; in total, the analysis focuses on 19 research articles published between 2001 to 2020. The results reveal that studies are recently produced and scarce, but they also show a variety of methodologies, subjects and areas of application. The conclusion is that queer pedagogy is a burgeoning field of studies in Latin America.
