Abstract

ROMERO, Antonio. “My sexuality is a political and artistic manifestation”. Scopes of the post-pornography in contemporary Mexico. Rev. interdiscip. estud. género Col. Méx. [online]. 2018, vol.4, e190.  Epub Mar 19, 2018. ISSN 2395-9185.  https://doi.org/10.24201/eg.v4i0.190.

Postpornography emerged as a political and artistic movement that called for the reappropriation of the pornographic image, to make visible other identities, bodies, practices and sexual pleasures, outside the male heterosexual spectrum that historically has dominated mass consumption pornography. The research note deals with the findings and results that emerged after the interviews with twelve artists and activists who have developed their work on postpornography, within the temporal space context of contemporary Mexico. The purpose of the text is to contribute to the reflection on the ways in which postporn, as a political strategy about representation of sexuality, has been used and understood in the mexican context.

Keywords : post-pornography; pornographic image; feminist porn; heterosexual matrix.
