The new stage of struggle that the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo started with the return of democracy crossed a limit situation that became their split in 1986. This article reconstructs the emergence of the organism during the dictatorship (1976-1983), and then stop at the analysis of the split and the two organisms of Mothers that conformed. Through a discursive analysis centered conceptualizations, special emphasis will be placed on the implications of the socialization of motherhood on the identity dimension of the organism and its members.
