Objective:
To analyze the daily configuration of the eating practices of women mothers of families in vulnerable conditions in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas as a local response in its relationship with the Food Bank of Mexico.
Methodology:
With a qualitative approach, workshops (participatory and training) and interviews (semi-structured and in-depth) were carried out with women mothers qualified with indices of marginalization and extreme poverty, to inquire about their eating practices in their relationship with the Bank. of Foods of Mexico.
Results:
The women expressed the ways in which they perceive their daily problems related to food, as well as the food practices that are formed as new habits to preserve access to certain types of food and thus mitigate hunger and food insecurity.
Limitations:
The obstacles and difficulties that existed during the development of the research are described.
Conclusions:
In terms of food tactics, women mothers of the Tuxtla Gutiérrez family, in a vulnerable condition with marginalization and poverty, resort to consumption of the pantries of the Food Bank of Mexico because it is the way of access to certain foods of the They can be used for consumption or to exchange for other products through resale. The practices found here are part of a series of tactics developed from the inaccessibility of food.
