Abstract

ROSAS RODRIGUEZ, Beatriz  and  DEMMLER, Michael. Influence of CEO Sex on the Risk Profile, Financial Performance and Capital Structure of the Company: A Literature Review. Rev. econ. [online]. 2021, vol.38, n.96, pp.47-70.  Epub May 07, 2021. ISSN 2395-8715.  https://doi.org/10.33937/reveco.2021.174.

Behavioral economics recognizes that there are differences between the agents that make decisions, according to different characteristics and contexts. That is why behavioral business finance has been interested in knowing the effect of sex on top management decision making. The aim of this research is to conduct a narrative literature review of three main areas of study: risk profile, financial performance, and capital structure. It is found that, although there is a position on gender and the risk profile, there is still a gap in knowledge in research on performance and capital structure in companies.

Keywords : risk profile; financial performance; capital structure; sex differences.
