This article examined the implementation of the Ser Pilo Paga program at the Universidad del Valle during the period 2015-2018, through a process of evaluation exercise. This research followed an interpretative approach supported by various techniques, such as documentary analysis, semi-structured interview, and descriptive analysis. The application of the methodology generated results at two levels the first related to the logic of the program and the second, with the beneficiary population, from a quantitative and qualitative perspective. Among the conclusions is that the program did not reach the planned goals, and, in the case of the Universidad Del Valle, a success is presented in terms of motivation, opportunity and funding with adverse emotional and academic situations.
