The global, complex, uncertain and highly competitive environment in which businesses are immerse, requires them to reassess their strategies and integrate advanced processes that add value to the organization. In this context, concepts like Competitive Intelligence and Business Intelligence acquire special relevance; therefore, scientific research in these topics is of high value for the organizations. The analysis of scientific publications constitutes a fundamental link in the research process and therefore it is an important tool that allows identifying the quality of the knowledge generating process and its impact on the environment. Using the main scientific repository of the Web of Science database provided by Thompson and Reuters, a bibliometric analysis is carried on the concepts: Competitive Intelligence and Business Intelligence. The most relevant papers are identified according to the number of citations, authors and countries with the greatest scientific researches in each area, scientific journals with the majority of publications and finally, predominant research areas in each topic. Among the most important results, a very significant increase of publications between 2015 and 2017 are highlighted, being the United States, China and England the countries that contribute the most, in disciplines like computer science, business and engineering.
