Resumen

KURZ, Andreas. Theoretic misunderstandings in literary studies and an alternative. Iztapalapa. Rev. cienc. soc. humanid. [online]. 2020, vol.41, n.89, pp.47-66.  Epub 07-Oct-2020. ISSN 2007-9176.  https://doi.org/10.28928/ri/892020/atc3/kur2a.

This text pretends the interrogation of some of the critical procedures of modern literary criticism. It challenges the importance of literary theory that emerged during the 20th century. With the aid of Karl Popper's epistemology, I try to show that this kind of theories has a very reduced cognoscitive value. Brief analysis of ideas postulated by Paul de Man and Roland Barthes lead to the proposal of a form of literary criticism that starts with an object that develops its own theories in the analytic process. The final part of the text presents imagologie as an example that demonstrates the possibilities of the critical proceedings proposed.
