BRAVO PONCE, Alejandra. The sociocultural approaches in practices and the meaning of sexual pleasure. Iztapalapa. Rev. cienc. soc. humanid. [online]. 2020, vol.41, n.88, pp.43-72.  Epub Aug 28, 2020. ISSN 2007-9176.  https://doi.org/10.28928/ri/882020/atc2/bravoponcea.

The present article consists in the location of the contemporary discussions in the searching focused to find sexual pleasure in a sociocultural perspective. It is defined that those debates can be organized in two big areas: the investigation that begins from a position rooted in the episteme of modern time and its starting into a crisis stage, compared to its premises assumes a sexual experience in a context of postmodernity. At the same time, three thematic axes were recognized in which the studies founded were distributed: alternative sexual practices, sexuality and gender and cross-sectional studies. The relevance consists in the analytical review of the academic production of a topic poorly addressed in sociocultural research. We start from the epistemological orientation: what is the meaning of the search for sexual pleasure in an emergency context of alternative sexual practices?

Keywords : Sexual pleasure; Meanings; Sexuality; Sociocultural studies.
