Abstract

TOBIAS-BAEZA, Aydee et al. Floristic composition and carbon in arboreal vegetation in a periunban area in Tabasco, Mexico. Ecosistemas y recur. agropecuarios [online]. 2019, vol.6, n.17, pp.369-376. ISSN 2007-901X.  https://doi.org/10.19136/era.a6n17.2009.

The aim was to determinate the floristic composition, and the carbon (C) stored in the patches of arboreal vegetation of peri-urban zone of Ocuiltzapotlan-Macultepec. Were evaluated the subsystems: fruit trees (FR), middle jungle (SM), trees in grasslands (AP) and a forestall plantation of Cedrella odorata (PF). In each subsystem were stablished sampling plot of 1000 m2, in these plots were realized forestall inventories to determinate the species and the trees diameters and heights were measured. In the study area were recorded 21 families, 35 genus and 38 species, values more lower to reported for undisturbed natural areas. However, some species have equity and dasometric characteristics, which give them a capacity to store 38.99-84.82 Mg C ha-1, for this reason, the carbon capture can be considered as one of the main environmental functions offered by this peri-urban area.
