The aim of this study was to evaluate the motility of Fasciola hepática miracidia subpopulations at different incubation temperatures and times post-hatching. Eggs were incubated at 22 °C or 25 °C for 14 d in complete darkness. Three parameters of velocity (curvilinear, straight-line and average path) and seven subpopulations were evaluated up to 10 h post-hatching. No significant differences were observed in the percentage of egg hatching after incubation with 91.7 % and 94,2 % hatching at 22 °C and 25 °C, respectively. The percentage of miracidia kinematic subpopulations after incubation at 22 °C was significantly different from that observed at 25 °C (p < 0.01). The proportion of miracidia hatched for straight-line velocity (87.62 %) and average path velocity (84.95 %) were the highest in the category of 2190-2545 μm s-1 at 0 h; while curvilinear velocity (49.09 %) was 1 820-2 190 μm s-1. Significant differences among the percentage of miracidia subpopulations and times post-hatching of parasite eggs (p <0.01). The straight-line velocity (87.62 %) and average path velocity (84.95 %) showed significant differences between 22 °C and 25 °C for the study period (p < 0.01). The proportion of miracidia from different categories of straight-line velocity (87.62 %) and average path velocity (84.95 %) showed significant differences between 22 °C and 25 °C for the study period (p < 0.01). The data suggest that the incubation temperature of Fasciola hepatica eggs have an effect on miracidium motility can influence the snail infectivity.
