Resumen

GALLEGOS-ROBLES, Miguel Ángel et al. Obtaining of corn hybrids for grain in the Comarca Lagunera and Aguascalientes, Mexico. Ecosistemas y recur. agropecuarios [online]. 2015, vol.2, n.6, pp.245-254. ISSN 2007-901X.

The objective of this study was to determine the combining ability, heterosis, and best single crosses of corn. In 2006, 144 single-crosses were formed by the inter-crossing of 24 inbred lines. Of these, 12 lines were used as females and 12 as males. The lines were evaluated using a random block design with two replications, in the S-S cycle in 2007 in Torreon, Coahuila, and in the El Niagara Ejido in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The variables evaluated were grain yield, its components and male plants flowering. Analyses were performed using the North Carolina II genetic mating design. Male progenitors L-AN 447 y LB-40 and female progenitors CML-313 y CML-278 formed hybrids with greater grain yield, with lines L-AN 44, CML-264 (males), CML-313, CML-273 and CML-321 (females) displaying the highest GCA effects. The highest specific combining ability for grain yield was observed in crosses L-AN 360PV x CML-311, LB-40 x BANDA, L-AN 447 x CML-278, LB-39 x CML-314, CML-319 x CML-273 and CML-264 x CML-321, while crosses L-AN 360 PV x CML-311 and LB-40 x BANDA had a heterosis of 21 %.
