Abstract
LOPEZ-LOPEZ, Jorge and JUAREZ-VALENCIA, Lorenzo Héctor. Adjusting shallow water vector fields. The conjugate gradient method. Ecosistemas y recur. agropecuarios [online]. 2015, vol.2, n.5, pp.225-232. ISSN 2007-901X.
This paper shows the application to the case of vector fields from shallow water flow, of a model and a numerical method to adjust bidimensional wind vector fields. The model is mass-consistent and allows the reconstruction of a vector field u from a given vector field u1. Mathematically, this model can be restated as a saddle-point problem, which yields a degenerated Stokes problem for the unknown velocity field u with a multiplier λ, associated to the incompressibility restriction. This problem can be expressed as an operational problem that is solved using the conjugate gradient algorithm and the finite element method.
