In a context in which people have changing and heterogeneous emotional careers, this article describes and analyzes, from a qualitative methodology, which are the expectations and motivations that cis heterosexual adult single women and men that live in Buenos Aires City, Argentina, have when they search for erotic and/or affective encounters. This articles analyzes those romantic motivations and expectations and the ones that come from the desire of being mothers and fathers. In all cases, I study how the environment -family, friends, therapist- contributes in the searches.
