An applied research of longitudinal analytic prospective type was carried out in order to suggest a plan of actions to elevate the academic training and the artistic sensibility of graffiti practitioners in the City of Riobamba during the period 2013-2014. From the 23 graffiti artists identified in the city, an intentional, non-probabilistic sample of 14 urban artists was selected, prevailing among them those between 15 and 25 years old. Approximately half of them have not received any academic training; however most of them demonstrated to have the aptitude to express through the graffiti feelings that help them to cope with the stress of the daily life. They also share the opinion that the municipal authorities in charge of the cultural sector do not offer support to this cultural manifestation; on the other hand, the inhabitants of the city have a negative vision of this practice since they associate graffiti with vandalism acts and do not recognize that the young people are expressing their voice. Seven main actions were proposed in order relieve the existing situation regarding this urban art and an exploratory workshop, with very positive results, was carried out in order to verify the acceptance of some of these actions.
