The aim of this article is to answer the question: how do the central prominent characters and the narrators of the novel The Eagle and the Serpent describe, live and represent the space of Mexico City. This text allows us to ponder, among other things, the role played by the representation of space in the exercise of power, the ability of the novel to house History and, collaterally, the methodological efficiency of socio-criticism for the analysis of literary narrative. In addition, one century after the facts narrated in this novel, it still contains key elements necessary for deciphering the historical genesis of certain blights (injustice, corruption, violence, impunity) that still today cloud the life of the country and stop its progress. Herein lies the political importance of its rereading for all Mexicans.
