Abstract

CORCUFF, Philippe. ¿Qué ha pasado con la teoría crítica?: Problemas, intereses en juego y pistas. Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2015, vol.9, n.18, pp.63-79. ISSN 2007-8110.

This article constitutes a wide summary of the book Où est passée la critique sociale? Penser le global au croisement des savoirs (Where has social critique gone. Considering globality as the crossroad of knowledge,) published by the author in 2012; it takes into account the multiple commentaries it has received after its publication. The author selects and develops only three big topics of the dense analyses that comprise the mentioned work: the new style of grounded theory, the relation between critique of domination (Bourdieu) and the philosophy of emancipation (Rancière) as well as the implicit presuppositions in social theories and ways of procedure. As far as the first topic is concerned, he proposes a style of precarious and temporally global theorizing, not rigidly systematic but in a cross-border dialog with other "games of language" (Wittgenstein) or cultural registers, as philosophy, ordinary cultures and politically active knowledge. In relation to the second topic, he proposes a procedure of fluid and unstable "equilibrium" (Proudhon) between the pole of domination and that of emancipation, bearing in mind not only the "disabilities", but also the "capacities" of the dominated ones. With regard to the last topic, he exposes the epistemological need of pointing out and controlling methodically the philosophical anthropologies and the implicit "models of historicity" which account in an unconscious way the different sociological theories.

Keywords : social critique; domination; games of language; philosophical anthropologies; models of historicity.
