Resumen

HAESBAERT, Rogério. Zone logic and territorial classification: the reapproach to spatial proximity and contiguity. Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2014, vol.8, n.16, pp.9-29. ISSN 2007-8110.

The article has, as background, the analytical distinction between space-zones and space- networks, and in relation to this, distinguishes (analytically) between two spatial elementary logics: the zonal logic molded by dispositions in the area which are related to the enclosure, the fixation and the continuity of space as well as the reticulated logic, which prioritizes the dispositions in the net and is related to connections, mobility and flows. Although analytically different, both logics are dissociable and are always displayed together. Even though the prevalence of the reticulated logic in the organization of the space in the modern era is recognized, the text aims to re-discuss the role of the zonal logic and the contiguity, especially in local and regional scales, specifically when the State is the main promoter of this logic nowadays, since it continues to control its territorial and / or regional policies in terms of zonal spaces and, sometimes as contiguity. But to perceive and witness the space in its contiguity / continuity is not only a privilege of the hegemonic groups but also of the subordinated groups. This can be illustrated with the example of the bio indigenous regions in Brazil, the "neo-communities" where the ances-trality, the kinship and vicinity are invoked, as well as with the Venezuelan communes. Though sometimes underestimated in the approaches that overvalue the reticulated logic and the fluency, the zonal perspective of the space remains firm.

Palabras llave : geography; reticulated logic; zonal logic; territorialización; regionalization.
