Resumen

MEJIA, Ernenek. Autenticidades, indianidades y antropología: horizontes entre México y Brasil. Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2013, vol.8, n.15, pp.97-123. ISSN 2007-8110.

In this article, comparison in the field of anthropology is envisaged as an intuitive way of relating researchers' experiences in different contexts especially when new contexts are dealt with using initial sets of categories and concepts. Using this concept, research on the Tupinambá of Olivença in Brazil is presented. The research was initially developed within the semantic field of Mexican anthropology and later furthered within the field of Brazilian anthropology. This procedure shows that the problem of "authenticity" imposed on indigenous peoples transcends the discussion on traditional and hybrid worlds and places the problem within the epistemic and political violence that defines and organizes indigenous "otherness".
