Abstract

DOMINGUEZ-TORRES, Lucía; RODRIGUEZ-VASQUEZ, Diana Jezabel; TOTOLHUA-REYES, Bianca Areli  and  ROJAS-SOLIS, José Luis. Technostress in high school teachers in the context of COVID-19 confinement: An exploratory study. Dilemas contemp. educ. política valores [online]. 2021, vol.9, n.spe1, 00043.  Epub Jan 31, 2022. ISSN 2007-7890.  https://doi.org/10.46377/dilemas.v9i.2950.

The prevalence of techno-stress, some variables associated with this phenomenon and the significant differences between men and women are analyzed. Through a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and exploratory study, 60 teachers from Puebla (Mexico) who work in Higher Secondary Education were selected non-probabilistically. Technological overload, daily work intensity, techno-invasion and socio-emotional consequences of working outside working hours were found as some of the creators of techno-stress; likewise, inhibitors seem not to exercise their protective role. The techno-stress found in the sample points to the need for more studies on the phenomenon during and after the pandemic.

Keywords : technostress; teachers; ICT; creators; inhibitors.
