Work-related stress is a public health problem that affects service provider sectors, such as Higher Education Institutions; Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze the existing scientific production from 1990-2021 on work stress experienced in Latin American universities and to identify which university sector is the most studied. The databases Dialnet, LA Reference, EBSCO and Scopus were consulted, following what was suggested by the PRISMA statement; Initially, 657 articles were obtained and after a refinement process 15 investigations were included in the present systematic review. The increase in scientific production on the phenomenon is concluded and that teachers continue to be the most studied sector of the university.
