Abstract

The study was carried out at the Casa del Diabético center in the city of Tena, and the objective was to develop prevention strategies in complications of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in older adults in the center. This study consisted of 16 older adults with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Among the main results, it was found that 37% do not know all the medications that a diabetic patient should take, 19% do not inform their patients about diseases related to diabetes. Type 2 diabetes mellitus, and 25% do not inform their patients the importance of maintaining good hygiene, data that allowed prevention strategies to have positive viability.
