The objective of this study seeks to understand the psychological meanings that young people give to emotional dependence towards their partner, based on various stimuli that were presented to them about some of the characteristics that emotional dependents present according to Castelló (2005). The analysis was carried out using the Natural Semantic Networks Technique. Regarding the results of the work, it was obtained that the discourse of the young people contributes to a greater understanding of the aspects of the daily life of this population, such as the use of popular concepts (eg: Toxicity, couple, love) that are difficult to understand, be measured, or defined.
