Abstract

JIMENEZ CARRILLO, Julio  and  MESA VILLAVICENCIO, Paulina. Inclusive culture for attending diversity. Dilemas contemp. educ. política valores [online]. 2020, vol.8, n.spe5, 00001.  Epub Jan 28, 2021. ISSN 2007-7890.  https://doi.org/10.46377/dilemas.v8i.2476.

In the study of inclusive culture and its contribution to the attention to diversity, there is still a lack of strategies to achieve it. The present study aimed to promote inclusive culture in an educational community, exploring through an interview a focus group of 24 participants among parents, teachers and directors, and the criteria that underpin the development of inclusive culture. The results demonstrated the importance of using a methodological strategy, in which inclusive values are considered, teacher preparation on inclusion and attention to diversity, correct curricular planning and adaptation, and the multidisciplinary work of the educational community, as some of the criteria that can improve attention to diversity.

Keywords : inclusive culture; attention to diversity; inclusion; inclusive schools; educative community.
