CABRAL-DORADO, Remigio e DIAZ-HINOJOSA, Valdemar. Evidence-based administration in the field of surgery. Playa del Carmen General Hospital, 2015 - 2016. Horiz. sanitario [online]. 2019, vol.18, n.2, pp.223-234. ISSN 2007-7459. https://doi.org/10.19136/hs.a18n2.2882.
Objective:
To show how the data generated by the hospital's chirurgical activities inform the decision maker in terms of the age of the population that the health unit serves, as well as the provision and requirements of the chirurgical services. Understanding the dynamics of these features helps to identify opportunity areas for the current management, as well as to foresee future needs that have an impact on the budget.
Material and methods:
The study relies on descriptive statistics and analyses of variance tests on two years of chirurgical data.
Conclusions:
These analyses find statistically significant differences among the type of surgeries concerning age, medical workload, and stay.
