Objective:
To evalúate the relationship between the perception of pregnancy and family support in women with human immunodeficiency virus, UMF 39 beneficiaries, Tabasco Delegation.
Materials and methods:
A cross-sectional, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted in 26 female HIV positive women, with prior informed consent. A sociodemographic data card was used, as well as a pregnancy perception questionnaire and MOS scale to evaluate family support. We used measures of central tendency (mean, median and fashion), Chi square of Pearson.
Results:
A mean age of 36 years was obtained, with a single marital status. Family typology: the nuclear family predominates. Family life cycle: mostly in the expansion stage. Perception of pregnancy in women with HIV was regular, with a lack of social support. It was obtained by analytical test that there is no relation between the variables perception of pregnancy and social support in this virus carrier women.
Conclusions:
It was observed that the condition is not an impediment to decide having a pregnancy, regardless of family support.
