Resumen

NAVARRO-CHAVEZ, César Lenin; GONZALEZ GARCIA, Juan  y  DELFIN-ORTEGA, Odette V.. Ports Efficiency in Southeast Asia, 2005-2015: A Non-parametric Measurement through Free Disposal Hull Model (FDH). Méx.cuenca pac [online]. 2020, vol.9, n.26, pp.41-67.  Epub 14-Ago-2020. ISSN 2007-5308.  https://doi.org/10.32870/mycp.v9i26.660.

The objective of the study is to determine the technical efficiency of the 12 most representative ports in the countries of Southeast Asia during the period 2005-2015, through Free Disposal Hull (FDH) model with output orientation. To have greater robustness in the results, bootstrap statistic is applied. In a second moment, the FDH model is compared with DEA model. In FDH model it was found that on average, no year was efficient. The year in which the highest level of efficiency was presented was 2007, with an average of 0.82, while the least efficient year was 2013, where an average of 0.58 was reached. In the comparison of the FDH with the DEA model, the port of Singapur was the most efficient while Yangon in Burma and Sihanoukville in Cambodia were the ports with the lowest efficiency index.
