Introduction: Study tools vary according to access to technology and the power budget, for the study of Anatomy the use of virtual models and videos online are a reality with increasing use. Objective: To study the tools most used by students of Medicine, nursing and dentistry who studied the subject of gross anatomy, the use of internet, the use of anatomical models and the usefulness of cadaveric dissection. Method: A descriptive, observational study was conducted with gross anatomy students by applying them a questionnaire to gather information on their study tools asking about favorite book, internet time, utility models and anatomical dissections. Results: A total of 225 students were polled, when asked for a book preference 49% preferred Moore s Clinical Anatomy, 33% Human Anatomy of Latarjet, 10.5% Grey's Anatomy, 3.5% Human Anatomy by Quiroz. By surveying the usage time over the internet for the study in proportion hours/week, 23.6% used it one hour, two hours 24.9%, 19.6% three hours and 29.3% more than three hours. Concerning 97% dissections consider amphitheater practices are useful as a complementary activity. Regarding the materials in class 36% preferred anatomical models as a suitable tool, 23% videos, pictures 20%, 12% exposures and 9% exploratory questions. Conclusions: We must orient to the search for reliable and useful information on the internet for their best advantage, it is also noted that in the classroom they prefer the use of anatomical models as a teaching tool and they continue to prefer the cadaveric dissection as a complementary activity.
