LEMUS DELGADO, Daniel Ricardo; MONTOYA BAYARDO, Miguel Ángel  e  CERVANTES ZEPEDA, Mauricio. Los Parques Científicos Tecnológicos como espacios para la innovación: evidencias del Centro del Software en Guadalajara. Intersticios sociales [online]. 2015, n.9, pp.1-30. ISSN 2007-4964.

This article analyzes the relationship between Science and Technology Parks (STPS) and the adoption of an innovative culture in the case of Guadalajara's Software Center. It focuses on determining how STPS contribute to innovation on the premise that a STP is a physical space and an atmosphere. Those elements allow people to interact positively in the path of innovation. To do this, the authors considered the perception of 152 employees at this center. From this analysis the authors propose that there are seven factors perceived as fundamental elements to innovation. The factors are honesty, proximity, innovation, physical infrastructure, collaboration and trust. The results demonstrate that STPS are not only important for the physical infrastructure provided, but they allow the establishment of an atmosphere for innovation. The authors conclude that innovation is primarily a social practice that occurs in specific contexts. The value of a STP goes beyond providing physical infrastructure or network that builds on this site, because it is also a space that develops an atmosphere based on shared values.
