GUTIERREZ-MERCADO, Raúl  e  FIGUEROA-VARELA, Ma. Del Rocío. Suicidality Risk Factors for Adolescent Students in Nayarit, Mexico. Acta de investigación psicol [online]. 2021, vol.11, n.1, pp.49-61.  Epub 14-Jan-2022. ISSN 2007-4719.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fpsi.20074719e.2021.1.373.

Objective. To contrast factors associated with suicidality considering family affective functioning, anxiety levels, depression, suicidal ideation, hopelessness and automatic thoughts in students from two secondary schools, one public and one private, in Tepic, Nayarit, México. Method. Through a probabilistic random sampling, 108 participants from a public secondary school and 101 students from a private secondary school students were selected, distributed uniformly by sex and grade. Instruments: Sociodemographic data, Assessment of Family Functioning, Sensitivity to Anxiety, Depression Scale for Adolescents, Beck's Hopelessness Scale, Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire and Okasha Suicidality Scale. Results. For suicidality; 7.4% of public secondary school students have high levels and 6.5% very high levels. The comparison of means shows that public secondary school students have higher and more significant scores in hopelessness (p = .018), anxiety sensitivity (p = .001), suicidal ideation (p = .000), suicidality (p = .004), dysfunctional affective involvement (p = .006). The regression models indicate that being unhappy with oneself is the variable with the highest prediction, appearing the separation of the parents as a factor in the context that affects them. Conclusion. Public secondary school students present a greater extent of variables associated with suicidality. The separation of the parents increases the adolescent’s problematics.
