Breast cancer (BrCa) generates an emotional shock that reduces the quality of life. The predictive effect of anxiety, depression and stress on the quality of life of 102 Mexican women with the diagnosis, aged 25 to 60 years, with indistinct education and without psychiatric illnesses, was analyzed. After informed consent, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORCT-QLQ-C30) were applied. Descriptive, relational and linear regression analyzes were performed step by step. There were manifestations of anxiety, depression and stress; negative relationships of anxiety and stress with global health and functioning scale; but positive with the symptom scale. Anxiety and stress negatively influenced global health and functioning (physical, cognitive and role) and positively influenced symptoms (nausea, pain, fatigue, loss of appetite and pain). It is concluded that anxiety and stress decrease the quality of life and increase the symptomatic burden. It is suggested to consider the effect by stage of cancer and type of treatment, to ratify the monitoring focused on the reduction of these manifestations throughout the care.
