SANCHEZ ARAGON, Rozzana; RETANA FRANCO, Blanca E. e JIMENEZ RODRIGUEZ, Berenice. Measuring the Attributional Complexity in Romantic Relationships. Acta de investigación psicol [online]. 2012, vol.2, n.2, pp.713-727. ISSN 2007-4719.
Attributional Complexity (AC) is a psychological construct which express the attraction to understand and explain the several reasons for other's behaviors. Based on different dimensions, individual recognizes the value of internal (as personality) and external (as culture) causes variable levels of complexity. The AC has been studied not enough in relational context or in Mexico (i..e. Finchman, Bradbury & Grynch, 1990; Fitness & Curtis, 2005), due to this, the purpose of this research was to design and validate an AC scale in romantic relationships. To do this, we examined a probabilistic sample of 467 participants from Mexico City, who answered a 79 Likert format items version. The findings show some one-dimensional factors and some other which present conceptual variations, but close to the main theory. In terms of explain variances, they start at 35% and the reliability coefficients were from .52 to .80.
