Resumen

GARCIA-HERNANDEZ, S. A. et al. Productive and quality response of six varieties of bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) to organic fertilization in Guadalzacar, S.L.P. Revista bio ciencias [online]. 2020, vol.7, e743.  Epub 18-Nov-2020. ISSN 2007-3380.  https://doi.org/10.15741/revbio.07.e743.

The aim of this work was to evaluate productive and quality response of six commercial varieties of bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) to organic fertilization in macrotunnels in the municipality of Guadalcazar, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. In this sense, an experiment was carried out in the period from June to November 2018. Bocashi-like fertilizer, supermagro fertilizer and sulfocalcium broth for pest control were elaborated. Evaluated bell pepper varieties were Revolution F1, Mysterio F1, Karisma F1, Anaconda, Green Noa 214 and Monarcha 30. The evaluated treatments were without fertilization and with organic fertilization, measured variables were the yield in t ha-1 and the percentage of products with specific characteristics for the use of Mexico Supreme Quality label. A randomized complete block design was performed with sub-sampling. All evaluated bell pepper varieties showed higher yields and better quality when organic fertilization was applied. Revolution and Mysterio were the commercial varieties that had the highest productive response (20.5 and 20.3 t ha-1) and more than 85 % of the produced bell peppers met criteria to obtain Mexico Supreme Quality label. Therefore, it was concluded that organic production can be an ecological and profitable alternative for bell peppers production in the municipality of Guadalcáza, San Luis Potosí, México.
