In order to look into the particular forms of gender relations in the student community of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, focus groups were held at three faculties of this university. The accounts presented in the present article evidence the persistence of old prejudices that translate into discriminatory attitudes and behaviors the female population has to cope with on a daily basis because of the mere fact of being women.
