Abstract

SANCHEZ-OLAVARRIA, César. Communication graduates and labor market: a study of career paths. Rev. iberoam. educ. super [online]. 2014, vol.5, n.13, pp.40-54. ISSN 2007-2872.

This paper studies the career path of the communication graduates based on the analysis of their performance and professional development. The combination of the performance and stages of development facilitated the identification of five professional experiences: two related to their career, one indirectly related and two not related. Most of the communications graduates work in the field they trained for. However, they are just in their initial stage of development that all communications graduates have to undergo when starting their adventure in the labor market, but it means stagnation for those who have been working for several years.

Keywords : professional career; graduates; professional performance; fields of performance; stages of professional development.
