Abstract

MORENO FERRER, Gerard  and  JIMENEZ HERNANDEZ, José de Jesús. Capture or Production? The Nancy’s Critics to Agamben and Debord. Valenciana [online]. 2022, vol.15, n.29, pp.365-383.  Epub Apr 08, 2022. ISSN 2007-2538.  https://doi.org/10.15174/rv.v14i29.624.

In the eighth chapter of his book Being Singular Plural (1996), Nancy, after recognizing the contributions of Situationist thought in the elucidation of common space, directs a series of arguments against what seems to hint at the subsistence of a "more authentic life" in Debord's writings. Nearly twenty years later, as part of a commemoration colloquium celebrating the conclusion of Agamben´s Homo Sacer project, Nancy will lead a very similar critique to Agamben's thought. Starting with this last text, our text will try to indicate the closeness between these two critiques.
