There are very few data about life and work of José María Bustillos (1866-1899). This article seeks to articulate wore or less the information available to provide a semblance of a writer who enjoyed the love and fervor of many of his generation, like: José Juan Tablada, Francisco M. Olaguíbel, Chucho Urueta or Bernardo Couto Castillo. With all, the little news foreshadow a simple and sensitive personality, this made poetry his preferred activity until his dead occurring at 33 years old.
