Abstract

REYES VAZQUEZ, Juan Carlos. El espacio del gato: Juan García Ponce en el cuento hispanoamericano. Valenciana [online]. 2012, vol.5, n.10, pp.7-34. ISSN 2007-2538.

This text seeks to find the place and role that Juan Garcia Ponce's short stories have in the literary corpus of the Hispanoamerican short story, and particularly in the Latin American and Mexican short story. To do so, we will perform a mapping of the genre historiographical and analytical tendencies in Latin America and Mexico, as well as a view of criticism and genre analysis models, specifically in Mexico. In this sense, we'll establish the importance and status of Garcia Ponce's short stories in the mexican short story canon.

Keywords : Hispano-American short story; Mexican short story; Juan García Ponce; critic; historiography.
