This paper describes and analyses the internships carried out by Bachelor students of the Restoration Programme of both the Escuela Nacional de Conservación, Restauración y Museografía, Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENCRyM-lNAH, the National School of Conservation, Restoration and Museography, National Institute of Anthropology and History, Mexico) as well as the Escuela de Conservación y Restauración de Occidente (ECRO, Eastern School of Conservation and Restoration, Mexico), in collaboration with the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF, United States of America [USA]). The programme of these scholarships is entitled Outdoor Sculpture Conservation Internship at Kykuit (Tarrytown, New York [NY], USA) and started in 2010. Interviews with participating students show that the internships provide the trainees with an excellent opportunity to apply their knowledge during out-of- school situations and to strengthen their skills on a professional as well as personal level.
