This essay shows the possibility of integration in the curricular, pedagogical/didactic interpretation through the metaphor theory, complex thought and the incommensurability of traditional science. The times we live in call for reflective thinking from the subjects immersed in education, in which understanding and a propositive attitude favor the unveiling of the possibilities of instrumentation of the preeminent notion in the pedagogy of competences: the notion of integration, in the classrooms of Mexico and the globalized world. The analysis organizes the different aspects of the use of the notion of integration, highlighting the cross-curricular flank in action and the implications around the transition in the role of the teacher in the loop: a paradigm of complexity - worldview of pedagogy - professionalism, translated as theoretical - practical knowledge of traditional teaching - of constructivist teaching - of teaching by competences.
