MARTIN MARTIN, Giraldo; NODA LEYVA, Yolai; OLIVERA CASTRO, Yuseika  e  PENTON FERNANDEZ, Gertrudis. Effect of organic products in the development of propagules of Morus alba L.. Rev. Mex. Cienc. Agríc [online]. 2015, vol.6, n.3, pp.619-625. ISSN 2007-0934.

Cuba has a germplasm of 21 varieties of Morus alba primarily for livestock purposes. The recently introduced are recalcitrant to agametic reproduction. For these reasons, in order to determine the effect of effect of naphthyl acetic acid and water in sprouting and rooting on propagules of two varieties of mulberry (Yu-62 and Universidad Mejorada), as control var. Tigriada without inoculum was used, for a total of nine treatments. Root emission was higher for Tigriada using water; with this treatment 100% of sprouting at 14 days for all varieties was also obtained. The interaction of the factors was significant for root weight, Tigriada and Yu-62 did not differ (p< 0.05) when were inoculated with NAA (1.25 and 1.23 g, respectively). It is concluded that to use water as rooting vehicle can be propagation alternative for Universidad mejorada and Yu-62, it was also estimated that natural auxin percentages of these varieties can be low which prevents their rooting.
