Resumen

LUYANDO-MORENO, Lia Stefany et al. Laelia autumnalis Lindl. adaptation into a pine-oak forest. Rev. Mex. Cienc. Agríc [online]. 2011, vol.2, n.spe3, pp.509-524. ISSN 2007-0934.

The study of methodologies for the spread and population management of Laelia autumnalis are basic strategies in order to achieve the conservation of this threatened species due to habitat disturbance and massive extraction of reproductive individuals. The aim of this paper was to establish methods to propagate the orchid L. autumnalis in phorophytes of a pine-oak forest with different substrates. Adult plants were rescued from areas at risk for the orchid and management proposals for the conservation of these animals were developed, also experiments were settled in artificial and natural forest. It was found that, the development of new pseudobulbs and roots is influenced by the environment in which it develops, so that the species Arbutus xalapensis is a good mean of support for the epiphytic orchid L. autumnalis. The substrates prepared with sawdust, compost, wood chips and moss, exerted a positive influence on the pseudobulbs' growth.
