In this paper a simplified mathematical model for a bag opener mechanical system is obtained. This model can be used for ilustrate the knowledge adquired during the dynamics of mechanisms course, such as: particle dynamic equilibrium, projectil motion and friction forces. Using this model, the bag opener mechanical design can be developed for its posterior implementation in a solid waste recycling plant.
