Abstract
GONZALEZ-AVILES, M. and SERVIN CAMPUZANO, H.. Thermal model to estimate the standardized cooking power of solar cookers. Nova scientia [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.13, pp.48-65. ISSN 2007-0705.
Paper presents of some aspects of thermal physics necessary for the development of small-scale solar cookers by developing a computational semi-empirical thermal model. The free parameters of the models are adjusted with data obtained from an experimental design, which consists of heating a fluid, exposing the cooker to radiation that produces an array of incandescent lamps to simulate solar radiation. The model is useful it allows for estimate some parameters used to compare the performance of solar cookers, from the thermal point of view, with parameters established testing protocols, standards internationally, such as: standardized cooking power and thermal efficiency. Using the model does not require the direct measurement of incident solar radiation and not dependent on the weather conditions (cloudy days and wind).
Keywords : Semi-empirical model; thermal efficiency; comparative study.
