Currently tourism generates almost 9.8% of Domestic Product Worldwide, growth and development have generated consume of the spaces heritage, which has led to these are subject to arrival of a large number of visitors. Such activity, becomes one of the main income of the population and contributes to mark territory in parts suggested and everyday life, both used differentially by the inhabitants and visitors. These dynamics without a doubt, modify the structure of the community. This article focuses on analyzing how tourism activities modify the territorial configuration of the municipality of Tepoztlán, Morelos. To do this, it was important to identify the tourist itineraries, where the main activities that attract visitors are concentrated; and analyze the socio-demographic information, population growth and housing. The most important findings as tourism promotion has stimulated the increase in service activities and decreased primary sector; the growth of urban sprawl at its edge and the decrease of the municipal head through the increase in the number of homes for population using it temporarily, either domestic or foreign.
